Tech Expo 2011

Global leaders in the ICT industry came together at this year's TSL Group's Tech Expo 2011. This year's event - the fourth biennial conference was held at the at Hyatt Regency from April 13th - 14th 2011.

Over the two day period TSL brought together some of the most recognized names in the international ICT industry including: Microsoft, VMware, Lenovo, Polycom, IBM, Xerox, Datacard, VeriFone, CommScope, Citrix, Blue Coat, Virtual Doxx, Foreshore, Juniper, HP, APC, Epson and Softip. Local telecommunications leader BLINK bmobile also participated with presentations by bmobile, BLINK Vigilance and Bmobile Blackberry.

Participants were exposed to the advantages and disadvantages of various new operating  platforms and emerging hardware technologies, specifically focused on virtualization and cloud computing. According to the various presenters, the use of these technologies could result in significant cost savings with less physical space needed for data centres. Many of the products and services promoted could be scaled up or down based on the company's needs to allow for higher return on investment.

Conducted in an informal yet focused environment TSL's Tech Expo is undoubtedly the major ICT exchange forum in the Caribbean. Through this event business and solutions providers were able to come together to help each other share solutions to the many challenges your business faces: from building simpler and more cost-effective IT environments to changing the rules of networking, and backup solutions that simplifies much of the technical complexity plus much much more.

Attendees learnt first hand how solutions presented could positively impact their organisations. Participants also got the opportunity to network with the experts and gain valuable insights of the benefits that the technologies have to offer.
